YP's for HealthCare Host First Event!
It was wines from around the world and hot jazz on Tuesday, June 16th, as YP’s for HealthCare hosted its introductory event at the Lincoln Heights Center. This is our newly-formed group of young professionals, focusing on serving the community, promoting the HealthCare Connection and its centers, mentoring high school and college- aged youth interested in health careers, and planning and attending social/networking events.
The guests at our debut event listened to jazz performed by the Princeton High School Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Jazz Program Director Tim Smith, sipped four varieties of wine at a tasting, sampled appetizers from Gabby’s Café and Wyoming Meat Markets, and started to get to know The HealthCare Connection: its mission, its YP group, and its service to the community. The guests mingled, met currently involved YP’s, and were exposed to the work of The HealthCare Connection from within its own walls.
O’Shea Gamble, THCC Board member and a YP for HealthCare, introduced the organization and a brief video detailing THCC’s history. He also introduced fellow YP’s Josie Bethel, LaVelle Betts, Patti Bonner, Howard Cohen, Christina Craver, Denisha Garland, Vicky Minnich, Laura Shorter, Marie Turner, Matt Turner, and Jessica Valenzuela. YP’s for HealthCare hope to increase the visibility of THCC in the community by reaching out to local YP’s. This group intends to host another social event in August and will be planning for this event at their next meeting on July 13th at 6:30PM at the Lincoln Heights Health Center (1401 Steffen Avenue, 45215). Please contact Megan Wright (meganwr@healthcare-connection.org) if you are interested in attending the meeting or if you would like to be put on the YP’s for HealthCare events contact list.
