Free “Caring for You & Your Baby” Classes Begin
for English and Spanish Speakers

Expectant patients at our Lincoln Heights Health Center can now access free sessions, in English or Spanish, through the generosity of a 2008 grant from Speaking of Women’s Health. The series of classes for our pregnant patients includes topics helpful both during and after pregnancy. They include:

Session I          Pregnancy & Prenatal Care
Session II         Labor & Delivery
Session III        Breast Feeding/Bottle Feeding and Nutrition
Session IV        Postpartum & Baby Care

According to Radha Reddy, M.D., an obstetrician/gynecologist for The HealthCare Connection, “This project is a tremendous opportunity for patients and providers alike to make a huge difference in pregnancy outcomes. In addition to empowering the participants with information, bringing women together to learn has other advantages too – including establishing networks for women that will thrive far beyond delivery of their baby.”

A bilingual health educator is conducting the sessions in both English and Spanish, with the English sessions held on the 4th Wednesday of each month and the Spanish ones, the 2nd Wednesday of each month.
